I am Brianna Moore or Bri as most of my friends call me.

I graduated from Montana State University in 2015. However, I didn’t officially start Bri Moore Creative until August of 2017. For two years after college, I worked as Program Manager for a non-profit in Bozeman, MT called Big Sky Youth Empowerment (BYEP). It's an adventure-based mentoring program with the motto "Getting outside, Growing inside." I worked to create and deliver curriculum grounded in social and emotional development. I also facilitated initiatives which aimed to cultivate a deep appreciation, respect, and connection to the natural world. As a program, we'd go skiing, climbing, hiking and whitewater rafting; activities that have enriched my life in immeasurable ways and made me who I am. Before given the opportunity to teach and help others for a living, it was these activities that had given purpose and meaning to my life. 

I grew up in Maine and New Hampshire. I originally moved to Bozeman to attend Montana State University in 2010. After beginning as a nursing student, becoming a wilderness EMT, and switching majors several times, I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Secondary Education, specializing in Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS). Yes, FCS is the new term for Home Economics, a very outdated and sexist class most of our parents took in high school, but the field of study was renamed and the body of knowledge is now progressive in it's purpose. FCS encompasses a wide range of subjects- Human Development, Psychology, Nutrition, Sewing & Textiles, Personal & Family Finance, and Consumer Economics.

As a whole, FCS is advocating that everyone be taught the life skills necessary for optimum quality of life. The classes I took promoted the importance of physical and mental health and well-being. I took classes on consumerism where we discussed the importance of self-reliance, sustainability, and responsible choices. I took sewing classes that promoted the value of thrift and resourcefulness over just throwing things away and buying new. It's this mindset that drove my desire to fix up, reuse, repurpose, and embellish things by hand. Without becoming a full on hoarder; over the years I have gathered material, fabric, and other goods that were maybe broken or outdated to others. To me, I saw a chance to enhance and create something new.

Why rock a generic, mass produced design or a brand that you have no real affiliation with when instead you can have a piece of art that speaks to your soul, or puts out your vibe, on top of your head? I'll forever be seeking all things original and unique. Shout out to my fellow artists, creators, and OG seekers. Thanks for reading!
